The very essence of the SSVP lies in the personal commitment of each Vincentian fellow member to take on his/her responsibility of a lay person in a direct way, in order to share the other’s sufferings, and to help him in his struggle to overcome them. Here, it is about the fully aware fulfilment of the baptism promises and of the responsibilities stemming from it.
