The SSVP is not satisfied with only a material support. She also seeks to bring a spiritual assistance, but she rejects any proselytism, regardless the fact that it could be as respectable as the faith it defends. Said this, how not to share with these poor towards whom we go and whom we want as friends, this huge wealth at which we rejoice: the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ?

Charity is concerned with the whole man: body, soul and spirit (« Human beings live not on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God », Matthew, 4, 4)

Nonetheless, it is important to know that the material help is the requirement for a spiritual consolation: it should precede it or come together with it (« You don’t preach the Gospel to an empty stomach »!)
